Do not expect to see Roman archaeological sites in Northern Ireland. The Romans never made it to Ireland.

Roman excursions in to Scotland, while lasting over two centuries, were tumultuous. In Scotland Roman presents can be seen in the Antonine Wall (Wickipedia info) the Gask Ridge signaling system. In addition, Roman forts are visible at Crammond near Edinburgh. There is the Roman bath house of Bearsden near Glasgow. Also, with in Scotland can be found quite a few marching camps and small forts. During the British Isle's Roman period, the area north of Hadrian's wall (Wickipedia info) was rather hostile to the Roman's, consequently, the major Roman settlements can be found south of the wall.

Roman sites can be found in the following cities.
City of Bath
Roman Light house at Dover Castle
York
Lincoln
Colchester
Chester
St. Albans

The Roman (villa?) ruins I viewed at Chester were not extensive, a few columns and foundation walls and what remains of a Roman amphitheater.

Visit Avebury Standing Stones or check out the Eden Project.
